A three-year grant to support a cohort study that has been running, on smaller funding, since 2011. The grant covers data infrastructure rather than headcount.
Why this study
Cohort data of this length is rare and difficult to reproduce. The work is unglamorous and unlikely to produce a headline before the grant period ends, which is exactly the kind of work commercial funding tends to underweight.
